After reading about PocketGCC in an interview with the developer Vitaliy Pronkin
I installed the package onto my phone (SPV M3100 Windows Mobile/PocketPC) from the PocketGear mirror, because his official site was down and even the Sourceforge page was missing the file [my own copy 2.6Mb]. The archive contains three programs: cmd, pocketconsole and pgcc. A text file directs me back to the ‘official’ site.
I’d been wanting to get a console on there, and this one even installed itself as the old MSDOS icon in the start menu. But when I clicked on it, nothing happened. I tried various combinations of calling cmd with /k, /c and pocketconsole using the Run menu, and I even tried rebooting (this is Windows), but to no avail. In fact I can’t even tell where pocketconsole got installed to.
To open the run menu I held down the button in the middle of the d-pad and clicked and held on the battery icon.
So pgcc installed itself in the root of the drive. CMD put itself in the Windows folder. At least I assume that’s the correct file — there’s no way to be sure because I don’t know how to turn on file extensions! (Thanks, Bill). I don’t know where pocketconsole is because sadly the search program doesn’t want to search the whole filesystem.
Can anyone help?
